Today, November 24,2014, we talked about stereotypes in class, we learned that stereotyping is when there is a generalized belief about a certain group of people. There are many forms of stereotyping in the world today, a few are about, race, gender, physical traits, physical appearance, and there is a lot more, but today I'm gonna be talking about something that not only bothers me but aswell as many other females. Now, the stereotype on women is that they need to be the caretakers, which means that they are portrayed that all they should do is cook and clean. Women are capable of so many other things, women can be lawyers, they could be doctors, they could play sports, they could be just as successful as a man could be. The one thing that irks me the most is when somebody tells a girl that they can't do something, for example, sports, there is many times when girls are ruled out and they can't play a sport because it's too physical, which is dumb, and if women do gets sports, the only sport they won't get judged for is volleyball, and boys play that too, another thing is that people seem to think that boys sports are more important that girls sports which is not true. What I'm trying to prove is that women are capable of anything a man is capable and vice versa.
